Connect phones to mp3 players

ok, the other day i was on the bus listening to music on my mp3 player and my phone rang but i could not hear it because i'm using one of those headphones that you stick in your ear that it entirely blocks out all external voices. So i had to pause my mp3 player, remove my headphones, answer the phone, then hang it down and get my headphones back on and play the song. So many steps to take, just to answer a phone call, when actually all that would not be necessary if a little time was spend to develop right software that would bridge my phone and mp3 player.
You see, my phone has a bluetooth and my mp3 player has bluetooth, which is ideal for binding these two devices together, my mp3 player has a microphone also, which makes it a device totally capable of sending and receiving voice.
if a proper software was developed that could bind my phone and mp3 player together, when i'm listening to music on mp3 player and my phone rings in my pocket, i would not have to do all the stuff i talked about in the first paragraph, all i would have to do is to click 'ok' button on my mp3 player which would display a incoming call message and talk to the guy right through my mp3 player.
basically both devices are capable to do this, both have bluetooth technology which is required to connect devices, what else do we need? just a simple app to bind the phone to mp3 player. May be a day of work for an experienced programmer, but unfortunately thats not happening yet.

Ok shoutcast is a free online internet radio that streams online to your mp3 player, and winamp is one of the best shoutcast players and have been so for last 5 years.
I love listening to the radio on winamp, its very simple, just drug and drop the .pls file into winamp and play it, when u don’t like the song click on any other from the list of radios or just press B on your keyboard to jump to next song. Its really simple and easy to use. There are many places on the internet where you can find great music streams which play great music and have almost no ads. I know there are a lot of people who love and listen to shoutcasts everyday and these users have been out there for years but despite evolving technology no innovation was made to make shoutcasts better and leverage full potential of shoutcasts.
All these user behavior, all those clicks, thousands of hours listened to the radio are huge sources of data. In shoutcasts you can see the name of the song and artist that is playing at that moment in your player, what if winamp could log the data regarding changes in playing radios, like what was playing when the user clicked on the other radio (means decided to stop listening to current one), what was playing when the next radio started playing, did user keep on listening to that one or just moved to the next station. Winamp could send that data back to servers and this users preference data can be used in determining next songs in a special shoutcast radio which will be special to each user and will play music that is best fit for that user. Shoutcasts can be streamed from anywhere but the data of likes and dislikes will be sent back to online music service’s servers and that online music server can create a custom shoutcast channel for each user based on their preferences.
I don’t exactly know how technically this can be done but I don’t think its very hard, it would be great if winamp had this feature built in but even if winamp refuses a custom desktop app can be built to log this data. Actually winamp is dying slowly under AOL which tries to squeeze last drops of money out of it binding winamp downloads with toolbars from ask.com and offers from emusic , etc. and it would be very easy for an online music startup to contact AOL and negotiate with them to insert some tracking code into winamp and send that data over the the startup while the startup could offer something to AOL, like, I don’t know, a feature of special dedicated channel special to the listener or just some cash may be.
This could add huge value to online music services about their listeners and bring new listeners, millions of shoutcast listeners would switch to new service without even noticing that, and online music services could use data available out there right now, data from millions of listeners, from billions of hours of played music.

Decentralized/Distributed Online Music Project (DOMP)
To make it easy for everyone on the internet to contribute to free online music and make it impossible for RIAA and the likes to get to and take down those free music providers I suggest the following.
Create a new concept of decentralized online music project which will look as follows
First of all, an easy to use music portal CMS should be developed and has to be available free of charge. This CMS should be very easy to install and be easily managed thru advanced admin panel. This CMS should be for music what WordPress is for blogs.
Using this easy-to-use CMS everyone with some minimal technical skills will be able to set up a new music website for their favorite album, band or genre, how large they want to cover is up to them. If I went to a store and bought the latest album of Eminem and want to share it with the world I could buy a Eminem-relapse-2009.com, install this CMS on my hosting and upload the whole album there where everyone could easily access this music.
Also, this CMS should have advanced community features, like members/visitors of the website should be able to upload their songs to, lets say if one of the songs is low quality or something is wrong with it a visitor should be able to upload an alternative for that and if that alternatives gets enough votes from the listeners, with time that alternative should replace the original track.
The CMS should automatically generate a .txt or .xml file (filemap?) which contains information about the songs uploaded to the server. Just like sitemap is generated and updated on WordPress every time there is a new post published. The CMS should be able also to import these filemaps, For example I have created a music website, uploaded an album with 16 tracks, and my CMS generated a filemap with information about the tracks, someone else out there should be able to import my filemap via his admin panel and with just one click import these files to his server to make them available for visitors or just import the information with names of the songs and locations so that his visitors could download those songs from my server not leaving his website.
The filemap file should be easily indexed by search engines so that owners of others sites using same CMS could discover you. The CMS actually should have a bot for crawling the web in the search of partners and some sort of pinging system could be integrated fir distributed but interconnected publishing.
There should be an option in CMS of adding your digital footprint to the tracks that you uploaded to the server if original uploader wants the credit for his work, also there will be an option of letting other sites using same CMS to import entire files to their servers or just information about the tracks. Also, admin panel should have an option of streaming only, download only or streaming and downloading both by regular visitors.
Actually a P2P kind of option would be great in this CMS so that each server could act as seeder for visitors of any other website with same CMS. If I came across a website with this CMS and decided to download a song, and this server is really slow but I’m not aware of there is another website which has this song and is really fast, this P2P kind of deal could automatically let me get the song quicker if seeded from many servers at the same time.
I guess this is all that came to my mind. If you could not get any part of the concept or have a better suggestion or want to critique please let me know because this is just a draft and your feedback would contribute to making it better. Thanks

Yukarıda gördüğünüz resim tam bir sene önce Gmail File Manager diye birşey hayal etmiştim, emailinizde ek (attachment) olarak gelmiş, gönderdiğiniz veya sadece kaydettiğiniz dosyaları rahatlıkla görebileceğiniz, düzenleyip tekrar kullanabileceğiniz bir ortam. Tabi bu sadece size maillerde ek olarak gelecek dosyalar ile sınırlı değil, Docs, Picasa v.s. gibi yerlerde kullandığınız dosyalar için de ortak biryer olabilirdi. Hayal ettiğim ve çok faydalı olacağını düşündüğüm şeyin nasıl birşey olabileceğini de çizip buraya yüklemiştim. Bugün karşıma çıkan habere göre Google benim bahsettiğim olayın basit bir versiyonunu çıkarmış, o da maillerle ek olarak gelen dosyalar kısmına hiç dokunmuyor, sadece picasa/photos kısmındaki fotoğraflar, docs'taki belgeler ve haritalar (?)'ın listesini görüntüleyebileceğiniz (başka hiçbirşey yapamadığınız) bir şey çıkarmış.

Bu icadın bu kadar dandik ve kullanışsız olması, şirketlerin büyüdükçe hantallaştığı ve gerçekten faydalı birşeyler yapma yeteneğini kaybettiğinin bir kanıtı bence. Bakın ve görün :)

What about monitors with screens on both sides?

Remember last time when you were buying a ticket to the movie and the sales lady had to turn her monitor to you so that you could see which seats shes talking about? or when you were trying to get your head between bus ticket salesman and his monitor to see in which part of the bus is the seat located he is talking about? Well, why dont we have monitors with screens on both sides? Remember those flip phones that had an additional smaller screen on the out side of the phone so that you dont have to open your phone to see time or if u've got any messages or misscalls? Why cant have we that type of monitors? the main screen will be used by the person operating the computer, (i.e. salesman) who could decide what to show to the customer and what not to. The custumer needs to see location of his seat in the bus / movie, be able to see options of payments/installments in the tour agency where he is buying a tour, etc. That's it, the salesperson can choose to show customers the window a customer needs but may choose not to show a window where she was playing game before the customer came, because she was bored. It can be a 12'' display on the back of 19'' display, and may be on even lower resolution. I dont need 1280x1024 resolution to see the location of my seat, I would prefer to be able to look and see a tour details a smaller screen with lower resolution while the salesperson searches for alternatives rather than making her rotate her screen to me every time she things she found a tour that fits my needs.

Microsoft tarafından ele geçirilmiş bu piyasaya giriş yapmak için farklı bir yaklaşım gerekiyordu, Google onu da bulmuş gibi gözüküyor, 1. ücretsiz yapmak, 2. bilgisayarınıza kurmaya gerek kalmadan, web üzerinizden kullanabileceğinz birşey yapmak, adı da Google Docs. Bir seneden fazla çabaladıktan sonra Google gördü ki, ücretsiz yapmak pek cazip değildi, çünkü çoğu kullanıcı Office paketi için bir kuruş bile ödememiş kullanıcılardı:) ikincisi ise, web üzerinden sunulan office imitasyonu pek de office gibi değildi, ve birçok şeyi eksikti. Ama şunu söyleyeyim, Google Docs'un özelliklerinden dosyalarınıza herhangi internet olan bilgisayardan ulaşıp üzerinde çalışabilmek en sevdiğim özelliktir.
Google Docs gittikçe yaygınlaşsa da Microsoftun deli gibi para kazandığı o müşteriler Google Docsa taşınmış gibi gözükmüyorlardı. Çünkü onların birçoğu kendi şirketlerinde üst düzey veya başka büyük şirketlerde çalışan insanlar ve işlerini yeni teknolojileri denemek için erteleyemezler. Böyle olunca Google gerçekten çok uzun vadeli bir adım attı, öğrenciler. Çünkü biz öğrenciler, yeni teknolojiler denemeye, onların nasıl kullanılacağını çözmek için gecelerimizi harcamaya ve sırf herkesten farklı olup hava atabilmek için birçok basit şeyi farklı yollardan yapmaya hazır olan bi tayfayız. Faceboook neden fotoğraf özelliğini geliştirmiyor.

Facebook'ta en çok kullanılan özelliklerden biri fotoğraflardır, ama facebook photos'ta olmasını istediğimiz birçok özellik var. Mesela, diğer birçok sitede olan fotoğrafı indirme, ve daha büyük ölçülerde izleme seçeneği, facebook'ta yok. Veya fotoğraflar ve albümler arasında dolaşma, A isimli albümün içinde 17. fotoğraftaysanız ve B albümündeki 10. fotoğrafa geçmek isteseniz, Albümden çıkarak genel fotoğraflar bölümüne geçip ordan B albümüne giderek 10. fotoya tıklamanız lazım. Nerdeyse 4-5 adım talep eden bir işlem, ama isteselerdi, o fotoğrafın altında diğer albümlerinize linkler koyarak bunu 2-3 adıma indirebilirdi.

Bir de dikkat etmişsinizdir, son 2-3 yıldır facebook fotoğraflar olarak hiç bir yeni özellik geliştirilmedi, google picasa artık başka fotoğraflarda insanları tanıma özellikler gibi ileri teknolojiler geliştirirken facebook durduğu yerde sayıyor.

Bu nokta uzun zamandır benim dikkatimi çekiyordu ve birkaç gün önce facebook'un 300 milyon kullanıcı geçtiği hakkında haber okurken bilmediğim bazı gerçekler oldu. Bunlardan biri facebook'un sadece elektriğe her ay 1 milyon dolar ödediği, kullanıcıların siteye yüklediği video, fotoğraf ve s.'nin sitede tutulmasının çok masraflı birşey olduğu ve en önemlisi, facebook'un zaten internetin en büyük fotoğraf paylaşım sitesi olduğu gerçeği :) şimdi dang etti, adamlar bu özellikleri koymadan da zaten en çok kullanılan fotoğraf sitesi, daha fazla fotoğraf daha fazla masraf demek, zaten başka sitelerden kötü olmamıza rağmen millet deli gibi kullanıyor, o zaman neden zahmet edip yeni özellik geliştirip sonra artan fotoğraflar için masraf yapalım, dimi? mantıklı:)
